Success Stories

In these uncertain economic times, in can be daunting if not impossible for some families to bear the cost of emergency veterinary care. Unable to afford the life-saving procedures that their animals so desperately need, they are left with the heartbreaking choice between surrender and euthanasia. But with the support of generous donors, the FACE Foundation has been able to give grants to these needy pet owners. As you read the stories below, know that it is our donors who make their surgeries possible. Please consider making a donation today.

Buddy

Buddy and his owner, Paul, had just moved into a relative's home after Paul lost his job. One afternoon, Buddy snuck out of the yard and ended up next door where he was attacked by three huge dogs. Paul ran after Buddy and tried to rescue him from the dogs, nearly getting attacked himself. Buddy was left in critical condition with severe crushing wounds. Paul borrowed money from friends to cover part of Buddy's care, but quickly ran out. FACE donors Peg & Peri Urvek were so touched by Buddy's story, they offered to help. Today, Buddy is on the road to recovery and his owner is tremendously grateful to still have his faithful companion.

Coco

Coco was accidentally dropped by the 6-year-old son of a large family.  Their income has been cut in half due to the economy and they were unable to afford the surgery to fix Coco's broken leg.  Their only option was to put Coco to sleep.  Coco's owner could not bear the thought of her young son feeling like he caused Coco's euthanasia.  Thankfully, she found FACE.  We helped save Coco's life as well as prevent a little boy from living with a life-changing mistake.

Princess Rat

Tiny Princess Rat ran out the front door and into the street, where she was tragically hit by a car.  Princess Rat shattered her pelvis and ruptered her bladder, but was miraculously alive.  However, the surgery to make her well was too much for her military family to afford.  Thankfully, FACE was there to lend a helping hand.

Lady Bug

Four-year-old Min Pin Ladybug was adopted from a shelter only a few months ago.  One day, her owners noticed Ladybug was in pain, and a few hours later she could barely walk.  Vets discovered a slipped disk in her neck.  This painful problem could only be relieved with surgery.  Ladybug's owners scraped together what they could, but it wasn't enough to cover the expensive procedure.  With funding from FACE, Ladybug received the surgery she needed and is now back at home with her family.

apache

While Danielle battled her own medical challenges, her new baby remained in intensive care for more than a month. Fortunately, the family found the FACE Foundation and Royalty got the surgery she needed. Now this sweet puppy can grow up alongside Danielle's new baby.
